Hello, my name is Sanjana Shresta, and I am 15 years old. My journey toward starting a nonprofit organization advocating for girls’ hygiene began with a deep sense of purpose and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young girls in underserved communities. Born and raised in Round Rock, Texas, I was fortunate to have access to proper education and healthcare. However, when I grew older and entered high school, I became more aware of the world around me, and couldn’t ignore the feminine hygiene disparities that still exist in underprivileged communities around the world today. I felt compelled to take action and founded the nonprofit organization “A Fresh Start for Girls” in 2023. As the founder and president of A Fresh Start for Girls, I am deeply committed to our mission and will strive to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to lead a healthy and dignified life, free from the constraints of inadequate hygiene resources and societal taboos. Our work will make a difference in the lives of countless girls, and I am very proud to be part of a dedicated team who will make sure to work tirelessly to create a brighter future for them!
